Hailing from the Kansas City area, BlueChime brings grit, funk, and soul to their brand of the Blues. BlueChime covers a range of their favorite Blues artists such as Robert Johnson, Albert King, Freddie King, and Albert Collins. They hold true to these greats and yet aren’t afraid to put a BlueChime spin on their songs, paying homage to their Blues roots.

Benito Berardo has played in many bands in the Midwest region including, Open Settlement, Lb3, The Flood, Rising Sun, FreeState Ramblers, Chester Gilbey, and The Grayhounds. James Wine started taking an interest in music in his teen years. Acquired a Supro short scale bass and took lessons. My instructor taught using the thumb and felt plectrum method when strumming or striking the strings. No overtones allowed! Learn your scales! As years passed, bass playing techniques certainly changed as did instruments and amplifiers. Fingerstyle, synthetic picks, slap & pop methods became prevalent. James' abilities advanced with the times and incorporated these techniques in his playing. His bass instruments of choice are Fender precisions. The tone possessed but those specific models are terrific for blues, rhythm & blues, and blues-rock. James uses GK and SWR bass rigs. There are so many professional players that I admire and have influenced me,well, it's silly. But here are a few: Chuck Rainey, Tim Bogert, Marcus Miller, Rob Grange, Leo Lyons, Roger Glover, Johnny B. Gayden, Tommy Shannon, & Duck Dunn.James has played locally in numerous bands: Bulbous Creation (later Creation), Mike & the Secrets, KC Sound Project, & presently BlueChime.
